Beach balls and happy endings
Hello from Koh Tao Thailand! If you’re reading on Facebook, click View Post to see more…
Since Monday (it’s Wednesday morning), the gang and I have been in Koh Tao, Thailand. It’s a backpacker’s island- pretty quiet and easy to navigate by foot or scooter, but big enough that we’ve ridden in the back of a truck back and forth from the pier.
You’ll love Koh Tao if you’re good with street food, beach/pool time, or diving. It’s a popular dive spot (none of us dive).
Today’s plan is to squash a slight hangover, grab breakfast with the guys, and get some sun. Awesome visit to Koh Tao, pictures to be posted once we finish this leg of our trip!
Highlights since we arrived:
- Jogging and working out on the beach
- Eating plenty of pad see ew (I recommend Tukta Restaurant for anyone who’s visiting Koh Tao)
- Enjoying street food: BBQ chicken, banana/chocolate/coconut crepes, fresh fruit
- Tanning and hanging out at the pool (the beach near Koh Tao resort is kinda rocky)
- Drinking coconut and watermelon shakes (we braved the ice- the shakes were worth the diarrhea risk!)
- Getting a massage- in addition to the bending and contorting, we had a good time making conversation with the staff
- Drinking with Burmese locals, watching their fire show, listening to great tunes at a nearby beach bar
This afternoon we head to Koh Samui, my favorite spot in Thailand! More to come in a couple days.
I hope everything at home is great- from Facebook it looks like it. :) Talk to you soon!
Love, Mason
